The prelink tool is already provided for ARM and I think it's already in SDK or 770 product (someone said on maemo-developers list).

And even with prelink, python itself would have to do a lot of work, filling hash tables and etc, work that could be avoided. You shouldn't have to pay for what you don't use :-)</description>

		<description>I'm just wondering, can prelinking help this situation at all? Maybe having the prelink tool ported to the 770 would make sense? It makes a noticable difference on a full KDE or GNOME desktop install, so for a slower device like the 770 we might see noticable gains too?</description>
